CASE STUDY / KUMUSHA LEATHER & HOME
Building Kumusha into a stronger brand and digital commerce platform.
Brand strategy, WordPress, WooCommerce, product architecture, corporate gifting and search-led content for a South African leather-goods business.
KUMUSHA LEATHER & HOME
BRAND · E-COMMERCE · WORDPRESS · CORPORATE GIFTING
The brief
Kumusha Leather & Home needed a digital platform that could do more than display products. The business sells made-to-order leather goods to individual customers while also pursuing higher-value corporate gifting and branded-order opportunities. The brand, website and content system needed to support both.
The challenge
The buying journey is unusually broad. A customer may want one desk pad in a specific colour, while a procurement or marketing team may need branded gifts, personalisation, quantities, lead times and a formal quote. Product specifications also matter because customers are buying tactile products online and need confidence before ordering.
The response
The work connected brand positioning, e-commerce architecture, WordPress/WooCommerce, product information, corporate gifting and search strategy into one operating system. The objective was a site that could sell, explain, generate enquiries and keep improving as the product range and commercial strategy evolved.
Brand and positioning
Kumusha was positioned around well-made leather office accessories, corporate gifts and considered home products, with a visual and verbal system capable of working across retail, business development and corporate procurement contexts.
WordPress and WooCommerce
The website was structured on WordPress and WooCommerce so the business could manage products, categories, content and sales without creating a separate proprietary platform. The architecture supports direct purchases while leaving room for custom and higher-consideration enquiries.
Product architecture and content
Product pages were developed around the information customers actually need: dimensions, colours, materials, use cases, personalisation, lead times, care and workmanship information. Category structure and internal linking were strengthened so products could be understood in context rather than as isolated listings.
Corporate gifting pathway
A dedicated corporate-gifting pathway gives business buyers a clearer route into branded orders, bulk quantities and custom requirements. This separates procurement-style buying from ordinary retail browsing while keeping both audiences inside one coherent brand experience.
SEO and discoverability
The information architecture was expanded around product categories, corporate gifting, office accessories and useful product detail. The long-term search strategy is built around stronger category relevance, detailed commercial pages, internal linking and useful product content rather than thin landing pages.
